Mount Ararat Trekking Tours 2026 – Open Groups and Program

The best option for individual travelers is to join one of our scheduled groups. Each group is limited to a maximum of 15 participants, and every departure is guaranteed regardless of the number of climbers.
These tours are ideal for solo adventurers, couples, or anyone who wants to share an unforgettable mountain experience with like-minded travelers.

Note: These scheduled groups follow a slightly different program from our standard 4- or 5-day routes. After reaching the summit on Day 4, the group descends to Camp 1 (3200 m) for an overnight stay, returning to Doğubayazıt the following day. This adjustment makes the descent more comfortable, especially for those who may find it challenging to descend from 5137 m to 2200 m in a single day.

Trip Plan

1 Day

We meet at either Ağrı or Iğdır Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Doğubayazıt. After checking in, taking a shower, and resting, you will have time to explore the city. Today is a relaxing day with no scheduled activities. We will meet in the hotel lobby at 19:30. Our driver will pick us up and take us to dinner. Accommodation: Hotel

2 Day

Base Camp (3200 m) We wake up at 8:00 in the morning and have breakfast. After breakfast, we return to our rooms to prepare our backpacks. We bring our luggage down to the lobby (any items not needed on the mountain can be left at the reception). Our driver will pick us up at 09:00 and take us to the starting point of Mount Ararat at 2200 meters. From there, we begin our hike from 2200 m up to 3200 m. This will be a hike of approximately 5–6 hours. Upon arriving at the camp, we will enjoy snacks and tea/coffee prepared by our cooks. Afterwards, we settle into our tents and rest. Dinner will be served at 18:00 in the dining tent. Accommodation: Tent

3 Day

Acclimatization Hike Today we will take an acclimatization hike. After waking up at 8:00 and having breakfast, we will start the hike at 09:30. We will ascend from 3200 meters up to 4000 meters and then return to the camp. The round trip will take approximately 4–6 hours. Accommodation: Base Camp

4 Day

Camp 2 (4200 m) Today we wake up early, have breakfast, and then return to our tents to pack up. We pack our backpacks and tents, then hand them over to the pack animals. They will carry our gear to Camp 2. (Lunch boxes will be provided for the day, and water will be distributed regularly throughout the hike.) We start hiking from 3200 meters and ascend to 4200 meters, where Camp 2 is located. Once we reach the campsite, we will set up our tents and settle in. Dinner will be served around 17:30. Accommodation: Camp 2

5 Day

Summit Day (5137 m) Tonight we wake up at midnight, have a light snack and something to drink, fill our thermoses with hot water, and begin our ascent to the summit. The climb takes an average of 6–7 hours. We reach the summit around 7:00–8:00 in the morning, just as the sun is rising. After taking photos, we begin our descent. Once we return to Camp 2, we rest for about 2 hours. Then we pack our tents and backpacks, hand them over to the pack animals, and continue descending to Base Camp. Upon arriving at Base Camp, we enjoy some snacks and rest in our tents. Dinner will be served around 18:00. Accommodation: Base Camp

6 Day

Descent to the City + Cultural Tour We wake up early in the morning and have breakfast. Then we prepare our bags, hand them over to the pack animals, and begin our descent. The descent takes about 2.5 hours. Once we reach 2200 meters, our driver will pick us up and transfer us directly to the hotel. After checking in and taking a shower, we set out for the cultural tour. Following the tour, we return to the city center, where you will have plenty of time to shop in the Smugglers’ Bazaar.

7 Day

Airport Transfer We wake up in the morning and have breakfast. Depending on your flight time, we check out and transfer you to the airport.
